Cyclist Avoidance Lateral Lights

Driver’s that enter in to the CALL 1.5 metre footprint when passing or overtaking a cyclist will be deemed ‘too close‘ and will be prosecuted if spotted. The above information is correct and has the agreement of the West Midlands Police as of 07.11.2017. Both the front (white) and rear (red) lights in the CALL unit are ‘type approved’ for use on the roads of the UK & Europe.

The minimum lateral clearance when overtaking or passing a cyclist is 1.5 metres.¬† (See Highway Code Rule 163 for clarification).¬†Drivers of all classes of vehicle are having enforcement action taken against them for ‘passing too close’ to a cyclist.
